Ruth Amelia Bunn is an associate attorney at Rocco & Griffin, PLLC. She joined the law firm in spring of 2015.
Ruth grew up in Oak Ridge TN graduating Oak Ridge High School in 2004. She then graduated from Tennessee Technological University in the top ten percent of her class, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. While attending Tech she served as an Associate Justice (judge) of the Student Government Supreme Court. Ruth was a recipient of the Dr. Norman C. Williams Jr. Memorial Scholarship and is a member of six honor society fraternities for academic excellence: Alpha Lambda Delta, Omicron Delta Epsilon, Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International.
Ruth earned her law degree in 2013 from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia, graduating in the top third of her class. She spent the summer of 2011 abroad in France, studying International Law and Human Rights with former Attorney General John Ashcroft. She also served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Law & Public Policy.
Ruth was admitted to the Tennessee Bar Association in 2013 after receiving her Doctor of Jurisprudence. She was then admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee in 2015. Her primary areas of practice are family law, wills, trusts and estates. Ruth has experience in all areas of family law including advocating for parental rights and reuniting families across the Upper Cumberland Region in DCS court. Before joining Rocco and Griffin, Ruth worked with Karnes Legal Services as a contract attorney focusing on family law, estates, divorce, child custody, adoptions, modification of support, and deeds. Ruth currently serves as secretary for the Upper Cumberland Young Lawyers Association. She has dedicated her time to pro bono services such as Wills for Heroes and the Voter Rights Restoration Clinic.
In her spare time Ruth enjoys sporting events, especially baseball. She loves music concerts, symphonies, and travel. She has traveled throughout Croatia, France, Switzerland and Germany as well as the US.
